Saskatchewan Big Buck Dreams, 2008
I am in the process of nailing down my hunting plans for fall 2008. Never can start too early, LOL. Give or take a day, looks like I’ll be gone the entire month of November, chasing the rut for the blog and filming shows for the Versus network. Tough gig, but somebody’s got to do it, might as well be me:) Gonna spend a couple of weeks in Canada this year. Right now, I’ll be leaving Ontario (never hunted there before, looking forward to a week in that new country) on Nov. 15 and flying over to Saskatchewan to hunt with my buddy Grant Kuypers the next week (one of the best big-buck spots on the planet). To get me fired up 8 months out, Grant sent me this:
Hello Mike: Here’s a picture a buck shot last fall in the area you’ll be hunting this year. It’s a really rough and remote part of the bush; depending on the weather, we might have to take snow machines in, and maybe I’ll get a sleigh to drag in the cameraman. Would this buck do? See you soon, Grant
Dang, monster typical! Those black-racked Sask. bucks never cease to amaze me. Only 250 days till I start hunting for a giant; yes, he would do :)
BTW, Grant has some fantastic black bear hunting too, and he has some openings for this spring. Check out his Buck Paradise website and shoot him an email or call if you’re interested.
